NatureWest have an annual program of on-ground work including revegetation, litter collection and site monitoring and maintenance.

Landcare Facilitator Program

  • Runs the local Landcare Facilitator program on behalf of DEECA, supporting around 10 Landcare and Friends of groups with a paid facilitator.

On-Ground Work

  • Runs a litter clean up group, Wyndham Litter Warriors, which has sub-groups in seven suburban areas.
  • Has an extensive planting regime each year, revegetating weed-infested areas with native indigenous plants. (15,000 – 20,000 per year).

Education

  • Carries out a strong program of attending local gatherings such as fairs, exhibitions, and expos to promote the value of native biodiversity to community members.
  • Runs a popular program with schools, with on-campus and off-campus events touching on the value of nature and the dangers of suburban litter.

Advocacy

  • Meets with all levels of government to promote the need to protect local biodiversity.
  • Is represented on many committees, working parties and strategy groups which operate in the environmental area.
